3 Good Things from June 2026

So, today instead of my normal three good things post that I had been sharing on this blog on the regular until a few months ago when I got too depressed to see any good things, I thought I’d share three good things, through the blue to purple to algae green haze, from this past month:

Results of MRIs

I had MRIs last Friday on my left knee and lower back. Yesterday, I had a follow-up appointment with my doctor who went over the results.

I don’t have to have surgery on either one. But I do have more physical therapy on my knee in my future to go along with the mental therapy I’ve already been getting for the last six years. The physical therapy is to attempt to straighten my out-of-alignment left knee and strengthen muscle around it, especially knee cap.

As for my lower back: keep an eye on it (with a mirror, I guess, ha). It’s not going to get better. Just don’t strain/overstrain it. At least, that’s what I heard as I was trying to listen attentively to the doctor in his analysis of the results but, to be honest, was thinking about getting tacos from a food truck in a nearby town.

I turned 57

See this post.

My wife’s month of Pride

My wife Kim is the northcentral Pennsylvania area coordinator for Free Mom Hugs. Click link for more info about the non-profit organization. She had events every weekend this month, ending with tomorrow’s annual Pride event in our town that also is the county seat.

My wife, seated, & 2 volunteers at event earlier this month.

Why is she involved? This is what she told me last year and still applies:

I am involved with Free Mom Hugs because I steadfastly refuse to accept the scapegoating and attempted erasure of the LGBTQIA+ community. I do it in honor and memory of people I know and have known who deserve much better than they are getting.

What are three good things from this past month for you?
