Beep beep – brief transmission from the northern outpost

Just beeping in on my 57th birthday. Here’s some photos from the day thus far and a “beep beep” to which I’m looking forward.

I started with ice cream.

Ater singing “Amazing Grace” for some reason in the shower this morning, I wanted to watch a clip of Aretha Franklin singing the hymn in a 1972 performance. So we did.

My wife Kim made me a Belgian waffle with sausage patties and I put maple syrup on it all.

Now we are watching one of my all-time favorite movies, more than four hours of cinematic brilliance. Bang bang…

Next up are nachos and cheese with the rest of the movie and tacos for dinner.

I’ll leave you with another beep bee that has amused me lately.

    What a fantastic way to spend your birthday! Eating delicious food, watching favorite movies, and listening to incredible music. Sounds perfect. Happy Birthday!

      Thanks, Helen. It didn’t go as perfectly as all that, but still pretty good. In short, I am getting MRIs next Friday for my left knee and lower back. I’ve been dealing with pain in both, and this will give doctors data and hopefully directions for me on healing. Hope you, your family, and friends are doing well.

        Oh, I hope the tests give you solid information so they know how to proceed. Dealing with pain is no fun. Things here are mostly good. I am getting a puppy next month so I feel like I’m shopping a bunch to get everything ready.
