Recliner repaired, PT begins, and mental therapy continues…

Every Thursday, or Friday or Saturday, or whenever the spirit moves me, I share three good things from today, in the past week, and/or in the week or weeks to come, to focus on what is good. I encourage you to share in the comments your three good things too, if you want. I was introduced to thinking on three good things for the week by Deb Nance of the blog Readerbuzz who lists hers every Sunday on her blog.

I mentioned two of these last week, but actually happened yesterday so will count again:

After a couple of months, I finally got my broken recliner fixed yesterday. Initially, the repairman came in mid-June, but was unable to finish the work because he discovered another broken part. Finally, that piece came in and was installed yesterday…and at minimal cost. Shout out to our local company, Beiter’s.

And tthe recliner was repaired just in time as physical therapy for my severely arthritic left knee began yesterday afternoon. After poking and probing all my sore spots on my left leg, the trainer took me through several exercises that I now am to do at home. It was not fun, and I was n a lot of pain last night and today, but I’ll try to do the exercises later at least once this afternoon. Then I’m set to go to therapy once a week while continuing the exercises daily or twice daily in the meantime.

I’m not going to lie: I’m not looking forward to any of this, but it’s better than surgery. So, I’ll work through the pain (not beyond what I can bear while not hurting myself) and aggravation for hopefully long term gain.

I canceled an appointment earlier in the month with my therapist, and they didn’t have an appointment opening since then. My next appointment is this coming Wednesday and is much needed with…well…everything, from my own physical health issues to other family with their own physical health issues…and oh, yeah, “the state of the world,” which you might have noticed, unless you are a hermit living in a cave, is pretty shitty right now.

But hey, here’s something funny to distract you. Look:

Can I balance a good and “bad” thing for this week? I am so happy that my puppy has come home. She is sweet and adorable. And exhuasting. I do not enjoy potty training at all and fear it will never happen. It’s been 48 hours and I am being extreme, but still. Poop in my living room is no fun.

Hope puppy will get better for you. Here, pain and muscle spasms with start of PT last week. Appointment with primary Wednesday to see if can get meds to help with both. Pain and spasms are no fun either.

Pain and spasms is no good! I hope you get that resolved. PT will help for sure in the long run.
