  • Instead of my normal three good things post, I thought I’d share one good thing from January. I had a draft that I discarded yesterday for this post in which I was going to mention being grateful for my parents being helped by neighbors during a snowstorm last week. However, I think my sister on her blog earlier today said it best:

    I am grateful they have wonderful neighbors who have been keeping an eye on them during the snowstorm and cold weather. Those neighbors have brought them food, cleaned their driveway, and checked in on them. The Husband has also taken food to them for me and stayed with my mom one day when my dad went to a doctor’s appointment earlier in the week.

    Likewise, I am grateful for my parents’ neighbors – and my sister, my brother-in-law, and their two children. All of them helped set my mind at ease, but more importantly were, and are, there for my parents. To all of them, I give:

  • Every Thursday, or Friday or Saturday, like today, I share three good things from today, in the past week, and/or in the week or weeks to come, to focus on what is good.     Keeping it short and simple this week

    • I’m at my parents, who live about 60 miles away from us. I’ve been here since late yesterday morning and will be here through late Sunday morning.
    • I also am able to see my sister and her family, who live near my parents.
    • My wife and I are both off work tomorrow night and maybe we’ll catch up on some TV we’ve been meaning to watch, including this documentary.
