Every Thursday, I share three good things from today, in the past week, and/or in the week or weeks to come, to focus on what is good. I encourage you to share in the comments your three good things too, if you want. I was introduced to thinking on three good things for the week by Deb Nance of the blog Readerbuzz who lists hers every Sunday on her blog.
Today
It was a short work day at the library, where I work part-time: only four hours, and I got more accomplished than I thought I would.
In the past week
My baseball team, the New York Yankees, swept the St. Louis Cardinals and the Tampa Bay Rays this past week. In a two-game span against the Rays, the Bronx Bombers lived up to their moniker with 14 home runs, only the second time in Majors League Baseball history it has been done in back-to-back games. They also hit back-to-back-to-back home runs for the third time this year.
In the week(s) to come
Besides the Yankees playing the Red Sox for a series again this weekend, with the first game tonight, I also have the weekend off and so does my wife. We have no plans, but I’d like to get out of the small town we live in as…familiarity breeds contempt? Well, maybe not contempt but ennui? Yes.
Next weekend, my Labor Day Weekend starts early with a day off on Friday and then I’m off through, and including, Monday. My wife works all weekend so I won’t be going anywhere, but that’s OK. Maybe I’ll do something I haven’t done in a while: read.
