Ice, ice, baby!

Every Thursday, I share three good things from today, in the past week, and/or in the week or weeks to come, to focus on what is good. I encourage you to join me and share in the comments, if you want, or in your own journal, or both, whatever works for you.

This week’s three good things are brought to you by winter:

Ice Sculpture No. 1

On Saturday, our small town had one of four winter weekend events this month with this past weekend’s theme being “Ice and Spice.” The top two photos are from Saturday as I was getting Chinese takeout. The one on the bottom was from Tuesday when I got a photo of the finished product. In the interest of full disclosure, in the top right photo, I edited out a woman who was standing in front of the storefront window with a Magic Eraser tool from Google Photos.

Ice Sculptures No. 2 & 3

Also on Tuesday, I took photos of two other ice sculptures, each on opposite sides of the street. Unfortunately, my arm wasn’t long enough to get me and the whole chair in the photo on the bottom right.

Author’s Note: Variations of “3 Good Things Thursday” can be found across the Interwebs and to which I was introduced by Deb Nance of the blog Readerbuzz who does hers every Sunday as part of her Sunday Salon post.

Those sculptures are wonderful. For me, I’m looking forward to taking a vacation day Monday so that I can spend 3 days with my high school friends.

  2. I always wonder how they make the cloudy ice clear. LOL.
